Install without the store

Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera (version 109 or newer). Takes about a minute.

  1. Download and extract

    Download the ZIP and extract it to a folder you will keep, for example Documents/SEZ-Shield. Do not delete this folder afterwards.

  2. Open the extensions page

    Copy the address for your browser and paste it into the address bar:

  3. Turn on Developer mode

    Use the switch in the top right corner of the extensions page.

  4. Load the extension

    Click "Load unpacked" and select the extracted folder (the one that contains manifest.json).

  5. Pin it

    Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin the extension.

Your browser may occasionally show a notice about extensions in developer mode. Dismiss it, or use the Web Store version to avoid it.
How to update · Do this when a new version is available.
  1. Download the new ZIP above.
  2. Extract it into the SAME folder, replacing the old files.
  3. Open the extensions page and click the reload icon on the extension, or use the Reload button in the extension popup.
  4. Your settings and license are kept.

Requirements

Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera, version 109 or newer. Firefox is not supported yet.
